October 17, 2020: Seven VYSA State Cup matches, seven opponents, seven wins for Skyline Elite teams.  Skyline Elite squads swept all before them on a day that showed remarkable consistency and capability across all age groups.

The day started at South Fork Soccer Park, with the tightest match, where the U18/19 Girls Elite home side topped visiting Arlington 3-2 in overtime. From there the winning results came easier for the Elites, with a 5-0 win (U17 Girls over Barca Academy) followed by two 6-0 victories (U15 Girls over Arlington and U17 Boys over Roanoke).

In a series of three matches at Charlottesville High School stadium, the U18/19 Boys set the pace with a 6-1 romp over Beach FC.  Next, the U16 Girls battled to a narrow 1-0 win over Herndon Force, and the U15 Boys closed out the day with a 5-0 cruise over McLean.

The U18/19 Boys Elite will play this Saturday, October 24, at CHS 1:00, in the age group quarter-final, against FC Richmond.

All of the other winning teams have advanced to the Cup semi-finals and are scheduled to play on October 31.

In President’s Cup play, the U19 Boys Skyline Elite advanced to the semi-finals with a 1-0 win over VSA, while the SOCA U15 Boys Premier knocked defending champion McLean out of the competition, also advancing to the semi-final round, scheduled for November 1.
